Today, two images were published by Mobile Syrup showing a Moto G (2015) dummy unit that’s expected to be displayed in stores across Canada, where the new handset should be available via “at least one carrier”. One of the images shows that the third-gen Moto G is IPX7-cetified, which means it’s water-resistant (immersion up to 1 m underwater for 30 minutes); however, it will not be dust-resistant. Any form of durability rating will without any doubt increase the appeal of the smartphone, given that the handset is likely to cost between $150 and $200. More recently, some images of the phone leaked indicated that the device may be made out of metal and that it would be one of the components along with the back plate that could be customized by using Motorola’s Moto Maker, which could be the first time this tool may be used for the Moto G. The phone has been spotted in the import and export datasheet of the Indian site Zauba, confirming not only that the phone is being tested in that country, but also about the importance being given to India by Motorola and its parent Lenovo. The listing has 95 units in black color and 95 units in white being sent from Hong Kong to be tested and the listed amount of RAM of the phones is 2 GB, just like the rumors dictated. The important specs that are likely to be included would be a 5-inch HD display (720p and not 1080p), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It is likely to be available in two storage options, 8GB and 16GB with a microSD card support. The Moto G (2015) is expected to feature a 13MP rear facing camera along with a 5MP front facing snapper. It will be powered by a 2,070mAh battery, support 4G LTE connectivity and run Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The phone may be available in two color variants, black and white.
Motorola is scheduled to hold an event in New York City and London on July 28, where the company is expected to unveil the Moto G (2015). Depending on the invite, it could be joined by the Moto X (2015). Prices for the Motorola Moto G (2015) should start at under $200 (Rs.12700) off contract, and the handset is likely to go on sale shortly after being announced. The Moto G (2015) 3rd Gen is expected to be priced at Rs.12999 ($205) in Indian markets.
