Apparently, the very same group is now claiming to have carried out a retaliation attack on BuzzFeed News for fake articles posted on the website about the group. It also defaced several of the news outlet’s stories, after a story published on BuzzFeed identified a Saudi teenager named Ahmad Makki as a member of the hacking group. According to the recall, the issues came to HP’s attention after eight customers reported instances of battery packs overheating, melting, or charring. “The quality and safety of all HP products is our top priority. We recently learned that batteries provided by one of our suppliers for certain notebook computers and mobile workstations present a potential safety concern,” reads HP’s blog post. “We are taking immediate action to address this issue including a voluntary recall and replacement of the batteries....

For those unaware, in July this year, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had issued a “final warning” to TikTok and had asked it to “put in place a comprehensive mechanism to control obscenity, vulgarity and immorality through its social media application.” However, TikTok failed to obey the guidelines which forced the PTA to ban the video streaming app in the country. According to PTA, the ban comes in view of “complaints from different segments of the society against immoral and indecent content on the video-sharing application....

The hackers told the BBC Russian Service that they had personal information of more than 120 million accounts, which they were attempting to sell. Many of the users whose details have been compromised are based in Ukraine and Russia but some were also from the UK, US, Brazil and elsewhere. “The hackers offered to sell access for 10 cents per account. However, their advert has since been taken offline,” the report added....
